makes an excellent consistent baseline for belt adjustment

Exactly. provides an excellent constant baseline for belt adjustment. I had to go to YouTube to understand how to use it. Directions suggest you know? Insert your index finger into the rubber finger grip and press until it clicks. Then watch your reading.

Pros
  • Sturdy, easy to wear and use
Cons
  • Some issues

I couldn't get it to give a consistent reading.

I was unable to get an accurate reading. I placed the device horizontally on my belt and kept pressing it down until I heard a click and then stopped. The specified voltage seemed very low and I was a bit wary of going any higher for fear of burning the power steering pump water pump. I'll have to find a better alternative.

Pros
  • Pound and Kilogram Readings
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Spyder Heavy Duty Drive Belt Tester

A great, affordable, easy to use alternative to OEM equipment. However, to get the correct tension, the first step is to take the tension setting from a properly adjusted belt, unless the belts come with instructions specifically for using the Krikit Tension Sensor. I've only been using this sensor for a short time, but am happy that it always gives correct readings when I check my Spyder drive belt.

Pros
  • Goodyear Engineered now under the Continental Elite brand
Cons
  • Doubtful
