Five stars! Fits gamepads and standard controllers

Controllers arrived as described, slightly different from the original but not for the better. It works and feels great, I can play all NES games on my PC. And the price is great, much cheaper than the original controllers, no complaints.

Inexpensive and works best with controllers

Feels a little light in the hand but I don't currently have an original NES controller to compare the weight. Otherwise, it's cheap and works with basically all emulators I've tried so far. With OpenEmu on a Mac I had to set up the buttons in a weird order or it wouldn't work. If you are searching - try to set the keys in this order: A, B, Select, Start, Left, Right, Up, Down. I think the only important part is left/right before up/down adjustment.

I bought this wired controller to reduce latency.

When playing games on RetroPie/Emulationstation with 8bitdo Pro controllers you typically experience minimal response times over a wireless bluetooth connection, but most retro games can still be played. Unfortunately, at least one game has a noticeable lag: Kung-Fu on the NES. It's so bad that I decided to buy these wired controllers. I'm happy to report that this reduced the latency response time significantly! While it's not completely gone, it's much more responsive to quick side-to-side…

requires setup in emulator

I'm not new to computers, but new to trying to figure out how to install and configure emulators and control panels on Windows and Linux. I chose Higan and it was fairly easy/documented to install and run games with it. After agonizing trial and error and googling. I couldn't get these controllers to respond (even after matching inputs in settings and a specific emulator, a well-documented two-step process). Still does not work. What I haven't figured out yet is that you actually need to map…

Cheaply made, not exactly original

Pros: I appreciate the very low cost of the item and I had no issues with it working. Cons: It doesn't look like the original NES controller. It's much lighter, a bit thinner, uses a different material (less hand-friendly) and the worst thing is that the buttons don't have an outline. By that I mean the D-Pad doesn't have indented arrows (with tactile grooves) and the A and B buttons face outward (towards you) rather than inward (little indentations) like the original controller - ie those The…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine.

Feels like game controllers from my childhood

These controllers are excellent and good value. I have a Raspberry Pi that I turned into a retro gaming station and this controller is perfect for it. It also works well with emulated Game Boy Advance games and several arcade games. Controllers are limited as they only have directional, launch, select and down buttons. There are no buttons or anything like that. The controller is indeed similar to the original controller, only slightly lighter and cheaper in some areas. The cable has a certain…

Works with Retropie + Raspberry Pi 3 as well as Nestopia

After trying to get the NES style wireless controller to work (unsuccessfully) with Raspberry Pi 3 + Retropie I gave them a try. They work absolutely perfectly with Retropie - all bindings work great. I also tested these controllers with Nestopia on PC - works great, all buttons bind perfectly. I ended up buying a second pair for another Raspberry Pi/NES build. What I really like about these controllers is that they are connected. Wireless are a crutch because after a long game you eventually…
