Good passive cooling, bad fan

I knew I wasn't expecting much for the price of the product. Passive cooling details are great, but the fan barely moved, causing my CPU to quickly reach 65C under load and keep going up to around 80C. Replaced the fan with a Noctua fan from another build and it works surprisingly well. I rarely see anything over 40c, even under load.

Pros
  • Computer components
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Not as advertised AND very poor performance

Stay away from this product. It's not 120mm as advertised and works very poorly. I have a Core i7-920 "idling" at 55-60C. Should be around 45C. The computer has shut down due to processor overheating. DO NOT BUY.

Pros
  • CPU fan
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Mostly good.

The cooler came in the original packaging but it was sent in an unlined plastic bag/'envelope' and the product was slightly damaged. Slightly wrinkled, from delivery rather than seller. Some of the fins were pinched and I had to separate them with a thin knife. Of course, this wasn't excessive damage and I'm sure performance wasn't really affected after the fins were separated. The cooler made my computer about 40-50% quieter. So I am very happy with the purchase. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Fan and Cooling
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Not 120mm but 92mm, meaning everything is smaller than expected.

This cooler clearly states in the paragraphs that it has a 120mm fan. This is in place of a 92mm fan. As you can see in the original images, the fan is the full size of the cooler, meaning a smaller fan fits a smaller cooler. The combination of both results in a significantly lower cooling potential. It is also delivered bent from the factory. You overtighten the bolts on the top, causing the top and next layers of ribs to collapse. So not only is it smaller than expected, it's also ugly. My…
