Very accurate for an optical heart monitor

I really like this monitor. I used to have a chest monitor, but it was uncomfortable during workouts and started causing rashes. This monitor is great as it can be worn on the forearm or bicep and doesn't interfere with poses during workouts. I use it with DDPYoga and it works great with the app. Just remember to turn on your location and bluetooth before enabling the ddpynow app. I checked my beats per minute with a chest monitor and a blood pressure monitor and it's definitely plus/minus 1-3…

Gives bad reading as soon as you start work!

I really wanted to like this. It's small, easy to use and connects easily to my PM-5. But once you start rowing, thoughts spread across the map. See attached photo of the last part of the morning workout: 20 minutes at a relatively constant 27 bpm. I started the phase at 108 bpm but as soon as I started pulling the paddle it dropped precipitously to 54 (I'm a slightly overweight 58 year old male, I'm not in that shape at all) and randomly fluctuated between 54 and 82 When I stopped rowing after

Effortlessly lowers heart rate then recovers heart rate while cycling

Effortlessly lowers heart rate then recovers heart rate while cycling (one at 150s, the other at high 70s). in various places on my arm and wrist and in the beginning it tracked my heart for about 2-3 minutes but then lost my heart and numbers which was literally my bike rate. I probably feel a slight movement of my hand while cycling, but my heart rate oscillates somewhere between a high 140 and 160 after 15 minutes, while that reading is 70 and within 1 of my cycling cadence displayed on my…

Not very good after 7 months

Update: After 7 months the device stopped working. As the device began to fail, I noticed the inconsistency of the readings and the intermittent loss of communication. ***************************** ********** ***** ****** Original Review: For use with MapMy Fitness and Run, iSmooth Run, and Nike Run Club. Should work with applications that use Bluetooth or ANT. If using Bluetooth, pair through the Fitness app and not through the Bluetooth settings. Accurate readings. Turns on and off quickly…

comfortable and accurate

I finally found a solution I like for heart rate measurement when mountain biking. I first tried my HR fitness watch, but it gave inaccurate readings when I rode over uneven surfaces. Next, I tried a chest strap that I used to use for running. It was true, but I found it uncomfortable. So I decided to buy this bandage. At first I thought it would be impractical to undo and reattach the velcro every time. But then I realized I could adjust it to a fixed size so it barely slipped on my wrist…

Great replacement for Garmin Chest Strap

When the heart rate chest strap on my Garmin Edge 800 broke I tried replacing the battery but that wasn't the problem. The original Garmin replacement for the Ant+ chest transmitter is quite expensive and I've never found the chest strap very comfortable, so I looked for alternatives. This CooSpo strap is much more comfortable and syncs perfectly with my Garmin Edge 800. It picks up my heartbeat easily and doesn't seem too fussy about fitting my arm. I've compared it to my Garmin 235 HRM wrist…

Do not buy if heart rate training is important to you!

Having had many Fitbit models and used both Sosche Rhythm+ and Rhythm24, and Rhythm24 actually broke on two attempts at the wristband-monitor connection, I decided to try this HRM. I use the iCardio app which I like a lot. Both Sosche Rhythm+ and 24 iCardio work exceptionally well, both Sosche HRMs were very good except Rhythm+ stopped working after 1 year. The main downside to this CooSpo HRM is that it loses connection when I do any arm movement: battle ropes, breakaway rows, pretty much any…
