Unthreaded flange holes

seems substantial enough for my purposes, but I was a little annoyed when I noticed the holes were unthreaded. It's not that hard to carve them yourself if you don't have clearance for the nut, but still

They are very heavy.

I like the strength of these flanges. In any case, they are too heavy. If you wanted to maximize their strength, you would need to put a real screw in the axle, not small set screws.

The grub screw holes are not drilled well in the shaft hole, will not fit the specified shaft

I have the 8mm version and the 8mm shaft. When the manufacturer drilled and tapped threaded holes for the set screws (i.e. two threaded holes to connect the flange to the shaft plane that fitted therein, not four holes on the flange rim), they introduced burrs into the hole that they forgot to clean . The burrs prevent the flange from sliding over the burr onto the shaft. This may be a one off issue (everyone else seems happy) but both flanges I received are useless without modification. Filing
