Good product! - Kitchen and dining room

Great product! My mom had one as a kid and I clumsily used a knife to cut my block of cheese for years. This product is absolutely fantastic and worth the money! Slice a whole piece of cheese in minutes! There's no turning back!

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Protection

Not durable and not worth the money

I really thought I would like it. We used it once and it worked great. Even before I cut a piece of cheese for the second time, the handle broke into a few pieces with use when it just fell on my laminate countertop. After that, the wire stopped cutting normally and the wire unscrewed more and more. For the money I definitely wouldn't buy again.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Quality

Don't buy it --- Spend a little more to get a good one.

Not as good as it looked online; but I thought it was ok until the pen shattered into a million pieces (when I took it out of the closet - if it hit anything I didn't know) before I even used it - - It'll still cut, but this one definitely won't fall out when the company comes! Next time I'll spend more to get decent quality. I should have known better than to think such a low price would work. We often get what we pay for.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Style 90

Almost decent for Kitchen & Dining

The handle broke off the first time. The handle broke off on the second one. The handle has a threaded stud about 1/4" deep. As the handle is also marbled (crystalline in nature) it breaks off easily when trying to thread the wire through the cheese. Poor design. The stud had to be used for support going through the entire handle.I keep the second one and make a new one out of metal. If you can't make a replacement handle with a threaded end I would skip this item.

Pros
  • also understandable for the old ones
Cons
  • A few little things

Poor workmanship is best in cheese slicers

I ordered this cheese slicer to replace the broken one. I like this design but not the way this is put together. The wire cutting the cheese should line up with the slot in the marble, but it's a long way off. I have to push the handle to the left with enough force so the wire doesn't hit the top of the marble. I will definitely not buy from this company again. You would think that they would check the item before shipping it. The only plus was that the kit included an extra cable.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Cuts Good wires don't hold well

I've bought many of these cutters over the years I've learned to keep extra wires handy, but the last two of the marble wires I bought. The handle broke, the first one lasted a couple of months, this one lasted about 5 minutes before the handle broke. Revain sent me a new one at no extra cost, so far so good, but the wire had to be replaced after a few days. Now a few weeks later everything is fine and if you've ever had a cheese cutter like this you know why I keep buying new ones, they work…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors are here
