I received this transmitter in October 2018 and was able to program it without any problems. It looks like a genuine replacement part. It's November 28th and the battery will be dead in about a day I am disappointed that it didn't even last 2 months.

Two of them died suddenly, both without warning and without recovery. It looks like the board just got up and is dying. I checked the battery voltage both after releasing and they are good voltage. Also, I don't have the experience to diagnose what might have died on the board. Let's get back to the Companion.

IF YOUR TRANSMISSION IS INTERRUPTED, TRY THIS FIRST! The remote seems to need a reboot and the only way to do it is to turn off the power. Turning it on or off doesn't help. You must either let the remote's battery drain, or open the remote and cut the red wire and then plug it back in. Then add the remote control to your alarm/starter and it should work now.

Purchased Dec 2018 now March 2019, does not work, will not turn on, battery life is very short and this is my 3rd controller I have purchased in less than 3 years. 2 starts because I received it quickly and Amazon managed to get my money back, but the quality of the device is rubbish. Now I'm thinking about putting a new alarm system on the car as it's rubbish.

I'm here to the '8th' other reviewer here and saying the same thing. This is the SP-502, exactly the same as the original and works perfectly. Funny story/advice on why I should have ordered this. Don't put your keys in your pocket and don't ride the roller coaster. :) The amazing thing is that the SP-502 was still working after being dropped, except the LCD screen was shattered. Also kudos to the Stereophore they sent me quickly and in the original Crimestopper packaging. I am 100% satisfied!
