Good job for the mini version

I bought this to add a crimping effect to some personalized chip bags for birthday parties as suggested to me. It didn't work the way I would have liked. I had to repeat this a couple of times to show the actual effect. It doesn't get very hot either. It worked great sealing real chips bags instead of a strong seal, but it got the job done.

Handy Heated Mini Tongs

What I like best is that it heats the glue, which I think makes it stronger. But he is so small. You have to do one side and then the other (by essentially clicking 4 times) to seal the package. I pressed on glossy inkjet paper for about 10-15 seconds. It would be great with a longer platen face, maybe even as a mini crimping iron. But this thing heats up, stays in place, and comes in a nice little case. I saved it and made 4 chip returns with it.

Its worth it! at Specialty Appliances

To be honest it works better than I thought. I was looking for a paper crimping machine but didn't want to spend more than $20 for one. It may not be much, but it does the job. Be sure to let it heat up fully (about a minute or so) and I'll also apply some pressure to make sure the bend is visible. I'm sure if I've used it on the items it was intended for it might not need extra pressure but it does seal the freezer paper lol. Great purchase and I recommend.
