Edit for better use

I was worried that I bought a tool that doesn't work properly, as soon as I read the review this tool did it and then modified it a bit and I had no problems , works with other stuff too.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are nuances

This worked for any locking ring. As long as .

This worked with every locking ring. As long as there is a groove to attach the legs, pushing the spring pack down and removing the locking ring will work. Repair 700r4 with this tool.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • shaky

. due to using a set of C-clamps like last time

It may not be a brand but it's better than using a set of C-clamps like last time. Retaining ring removal has been reduced from an hour and a half of curses to 5 minutes.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Expensive

Great for 4L60e

This tool has allowed me to remove all of the spring cages from the 4L60e including the rearmost spring/piston. a bit finicky with the rearmost one, but it worked. Simply hook the outer spring-loaded tabs into the groove of the clamp and adjust everything, then tighten. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

The tool works with some help

The tool itself doesn't work that well. The bottom of the tool, where it enters the snap ring groove, will tend to pop out of the groove when pressure is applied. I pressed it against the drum with pliers and it worked with no problems. I like that it has a spring push button.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Zero

Great tool for automatic transmission repair.

If you are repairing an automatic transmission, this tool is indispensable. It's easy to use and well built. Before I bought this I looked at other clutch spring compressors and didn't like the lack of work space they allowed. This tool allowed me to start where I needed to get the work done right.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Not useful without modification/manufacturing

Threaded center screw will attempt to screw into the bottom of the cross member as there is no washer to prevent this. This means that instead of compressing the springs, which is the whole point of the tool, it just compresses itself into that bottom plate and does nothing but cause a stream of 4-letter words. Yes, it can be disassembled, crafted and repaired. Should you? no I gave it 2 stars instead of one because if you're brave enough to take the automatic transmission apart fixing it won't

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
