Worth the Price - Sanders

I've been doing bodywork for about ten years now. They pay off in the amount of time they save you. I've never seen anything cut so quickly and wear out so little after prolonged use. Just remember to apply light pressure (still cuts aggressively with very little pressure) and the discs will last forever compared to other consumables.

Wow hard core in Tools & Equipment

I used to use 40 grit sanding belts on a sander but they don't compare to this 36 grit disc. It's so aggressive I barely have to touch the bondo or it goes through 1/4 inch in a few turns. Chewing mild steel is also easy. I wish I had used this to remove rust before because it's a beast.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Grinding MIG Welds on Grinders

These discs are very quick for grinding MIG welds on older car headliners with rust. But like all 3M products, they don't come cheap. I can't tell how many yards of weld I had to grind down, but they took quite a while. My intended box of 15 was a Revain Warehouse deal and only 14 arrived, but I had to get on with my project and just got on with my work. They didn't tell me it was 1 less so that was a surprise. But this is a camp.

Solid - very solid for Sanders

I follow a tough guy on YouTube. The guy talked about it (not sponsored) and talked about it a lot. The price shocked me compared to what I usually buy. I've always used cheaper discs and never felt a difference until I tried these. I will never buy regular or cheap versions again. They are great and don't wear out as quickly as the cheaper rims I've bought. I can't express enough how durable they are compared to the cheap ones. I don't know if using multiple cheaper hard drives saves money…

  • New to my collection

Worth the extra cost

These things cut better and last longer than anything I've ever used. They remove mill scale from hot rolled steel better than anything I've tried. I didn't believe the hype but I converted after trying them. If I remember correctly, I decided to try them after watching Japhand's YouTube videos. Another added benefit is that the backing or paper used is stronger so they don't tear easily. I sometimes catch the edges of the cheaper ones on the tin and rip out chunks depending on the twist (I…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
