Quick and easy, nothing bothers you! The instructions were easy to follow. The manufacturer recommends cooking on level 3, but for those of you who like waffles to be a little crispy on the outside, like me, use level 4! They have a little extra that comes out with the waffle when you pour the batter on top (see picture), but you can always cut it off. I am SO sorely disappointed with this product! The vertical design seems so smart, but it just makes it very difficult to use. Remember that the thicker your batter, the less likely it is that you will be able to pour it down the spout. I had to try to stuff it in with a knife - then I had to add milk to the batter to make it thinner so I could pour more in. Fantastic Belgian waffle maker. Easy to use and just works. We used the standard box/pouch pancake mix (you just add a bit of butter in addition to the water you need) and a real Belgian waffle mix (egg + oil + water). The Belgian mix is better in my opinion, but the kids like the pancake mix version too. I've found that the highest heat/cook time setting (#5 on the dial) works best.
