This is a very beautiful ceramic hair curler. I've never had one, but the barber used a different brand of ceramic curlers on my hair. Anyway, PHOEBE has an easy-to-read LCD screen that shows you what temperature you've set. Three simple buttons: 1. ON/OFF, 2. TEMPERATURE INCREASE or 3. TEMPERATURE DOWN. My hair is medium thick and shoulder length, responds well and works quickly. I can control the temperature so I don't burn my hair. Hair stays soft and not over-dried like metal curling irons.

Bought this curling comb for my mother in November for Christmas. She opened it yesterday, used it and loves it! The difference in her hair is amazing. She said the quality was excellent and she was very happy with the gift. The only thing I want to warn you about is that it gets hot fast. The manual tells you the temperature depending on your hair type. Don't go into it. My mom tried the lower setting first and she has thick, coarse hair. Works great at low and medium temperatures.
