My husband puts more grease on the trailer than he needs. Too much contact with that fat ball, clothes, lips of my 22-month-old grandson is enough.

Began to chip on first use on a 2 5/16" ball. I always apply it carefully so as not to make a mistake. Continues to deteriorate with each use. Might be great for a 2" ball but not a 2 5/16" ball. In the attached photo after about 6 uses.

I keep buying them (this is my third) because I keep losing them. I smear some grease on the ball and lower the lid to prevent rust. Make sure you cover everything with grease first, as the cap will catch condensation.

Prevents grease from getting on itself or at least covers that greasy hitch ball. I'm tired of looking for the grease after removing the hitch. Now I can at least cover the clutch and don't get my feet, hands or clothes dirty. Now they need a cost-effective solution to prevent the hitch from overflowing when not in use. Just received this ball container with a 4 ounce can of grease. After putting a light coating of grease on the 2 5/16" hitch ball, I put this cap on. It was snug, but not so tight that it looked like the wrong size. As soon as it was fully placed on the ball, it popped I saw it before my eyes! I know it's only $4 and I didn't expect it to last forever but it was ridiculous. I have requested a refund for this item.
