Used twice and a couple of locks work fine

Looks well made but isn't. I like having one less key. The reality for me has been that I've used the hitch lock twice and it locks well - nothing moves when I turn the key and it doesn't get stuck on the pin. I'm carrying another key with me.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Quality

I like it: Clutch locks

Works great. I wish the post length could be shortened without rusting. I cut it to length, leaving enough room for mistakes, and now it's rusting at the top because it's not covered. So I'll just paint. Everything else is perfect and working. Between that and a padlocked tongue blocker, no one is going to bother stealing it.

  • Weight
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Half half in clutch locks

Good quality appears. The clutch lock looks good / locks properly. Clutch lock does not engage. It is easy to remove. I mean it literally slides off. On the rare occasions that I can get it to "lock", it's towards the end of the bar. Once you're there, you can just force it. I could also secure the muff with a zip tie.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Disappointed, flimsy

So far I've been impressed with Curt's products. The product came in poor packaging, the connector pin was bent. It took some time to level the spot where the lock could be removed. The entire lock is a thin shell of blue aluminum over plastic. Very light in weight. Doesn't seem strong. A few hammer blows will likely break it. Will return.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine

Key broke off in lock

I bought this lock set because the entrance to the trunk of my SUV isn't wide enough to use my old in-line pin lock. The first time I used a Curt lock on my boat. The locks were completely under fresh water for about a minute. When I got home and tried to unhook the boat, the key wouldn't turn. I wiggled it a little, then twisted it a little tighter and the key broke in the 1/4" clutch lock. I had to cut it off. I removed the clutch lock but it also seemed stiff. Not sure if I ever did Will use

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Broke after 2 months on the Autobahn

Locking pin seemed to work but after the first 2 weeks it was a bit more difficult to unlock and lock. However, this is not a problem. The big problem was that it literally broke when towing an empty Β£300 trailer. Not even a heavy trailer. He collapsed on the track. Literally 2 days before owning this lock for 2 months. I should also add that the blue color of the locking pin wasn't ideal. It had stains on it, like the factory had run out of paint. I would like to add a photo, but as you…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Disappeared

Perfect for my trailer

I fitted my new trailer with an impulse brake so there is no standard length safety pin on the clutch arm. Its length is about 2 inches instead of the usual 1 inch or so. I needed a set of the same wrench for both the 5/8" receiver pin (2" receiver tube) and hitch so I don't have to fiddle with lots of wrenches when trying to hitch a trailer and most and Disconnect kits are designed to connect shorter length pins. This is the perfect solution when you need a longer pen. The 1/4" pin is a lot…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

One less key.

I have had a hitch lock for over a year now and I was happy with it so I bought this set as I needed a hitch lock and I could move the original to the receiver hitch in the back of our trailer. I'm glad they improved the design by putting the lid on top of the keyhole so it's less likely to pick up dirt and corrosion. These are high quality locks.

Pros
  • ERGONOMICS AT WORK. These right angle hitch locks have a built in swivel feature and a simple 1/4 turn that allows the heads to swivel towards you for easy and ergonomic access when locking or unlocking a trailer.
