Didn't work in Computers & Accessories

I have a lot of computer and networking experience, but I couldn't get this print server to work. In the end, tech support told me it wasn't compatible with my printer. I finally got my printer online by installing the driver on my Windows Home Server (WHS) and connecting the printer to it via USB. I read that it is better not to install software and drivers on WHS, so I ordered this print server. I then decided that since WHS is Server 2003 based it shouldn't hurt. No problems after 2+ months.

Pros
  • New to my collection

Learn how to set up a print server before you buy this print server.

Nice little print server. The bad thing is that the installation doesn't work. I had to go out and surf the web to figure out how to set it up in Windows 8.1. Once I get the pass it works fine except it pauses at the bottom of the last page to print for about 2-3 minutes and then exits. However, it was cheaper than having two printers.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Sad packaging

The product works fine after removing the old password and server name

I need to figure out how to clear the password and server name before using it. The seller must sell as standard installation even if the product is used. The seller did not know how to return the device to its original condition. I was alone. The product works fine after removing the old password and server name.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Update available

Too many problems with print servers

After several hours of trying it finally works. You must have an XP machine, it won't boot into Vista. Lots of problems with the printer driver on the machine that had the printer! Looks easy, isn't it!

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Some little things

Doesn't work properly as target

If you want to use this to target generic USB text devices (like CHIT printers, etc.) then don't waste your time and effort with this print server; Setup routines aren't easily customizable, server-level printer sharing support on this device is a hit, and handling of non-standard (GENERIC/TXT) printers is very poor.

Pros
  • is understandable even for the old
Cons
  • . Neutral
