The second unit works like clockwork

I would like to share my experience with this print server - it only took me 15 minutes to set it up and print the first page. The first device I received was defective - it refused to communicate reliably with my router. Traded for a second device and it works like a charm. I can print from my laptop and desktop to my Samsung multifunction laser printer - the print speed is FAST and feels like a direct USB connection! Here is my advice for configuring this device in Windows XP1) First, connect

Replacing the print server got the printers working again!

My D-Link DP-G310 print server has stopped working. Since several home computers were already set up to print to the same printer, I decided to just replace the same server. It was easy to swap out and the printer was up and running again straight away!

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Very good when it works

I bought this for the Canon Pixma MP830. Compatibility not checked, purchased. Luckily it was compatible. Here is an updated compatibility list, others may work (ftp://ftp.dlink.pl/dp/dp-g310/documentation/DP-G310_doc_en_Printer-compatibility-list_20080121.pdf). I give it 3 stars for many reasons: 1. With a multifunction printer like the MP830 you can't scan from the device, you have to connect the printer directly to your computer to scan.2. It does not support WPA encryption. I've heard that…

This device works as advertised on unsecured and WEP.

This device works as advertised with an unsecured and encrypted WEP password, but even with a firmware update that should allow the use of PSA-TSK it does not work. The encryption is still recognized as WEP regardless of the settings.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Insecure

Great article. for print server

If you follow the instructions that come with it, this print server is very easy to set up. I've had it for about six months now and it hasn't given me any problems. I'm rewatching it on Revain because I'm recommending it to a friend.

  • Best in its niche
