Doesn't work with Military CAC and Android

The first one I got didn't work with Android and Military CAC, that was the only reason I bought it. I returned and got another one for some reason. It didn't work either. It doesn't even recognize the inserted card.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Only available in white

Works well sometimes

This item works great except when it doesn't work. If you unplug your device and then try to plug it back in, it's not always recognized. You can tell by the supplied light not turning on. Delete and try again. Still does not work. Switch to a different port. That does not work. Wait a few minutes and then 50/50 if the device works again. Obviously frustrating. I really like the versatility of the device, but the fact that it doesn't always connect makes it difficult to recommend.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Nothing

Poor quality, I would not buy

The USB cable is poorly designed. After only a few months of ownership and about 1 hour of use per week, the cable shorted out rendering it inoperable. I always kept the device with the cable directly in the special pocket of the backpack. Cord sprayers remained in direct use. Just bad design. Also, I could never see the SD card. Wouldn't buy again.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Has worked fine with my government PIV card - about 1 year.

OR I have to say it works no worse than the reader I was given and is much more portable. It's very light and not that clunky. Most importantly, it connects to the Thunderbolt 3 port without being cluttered. Reads the map. I can log in. The crappy software means I have to unplug and plug it in again at times, but I'm pretty sure it's not the reader's fault. Update: It's not that reliable. About a year later I had to remove it as it became unusable. He traveled little and was not subjected toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Suitable for MAC Mojave and DoD CAC

Plug and Play for Mac Airbook Mojave! Certificates downloaded from my DoD CAC to the keychain, you must set the trust strings on the certificates in order for the DoD sites to recognize them. The MAC will also ask you for your keychain password when authenticating to government websites. DO NOT enter your keychain or MAC password, in this prompt enter your CAC PIN. The product does not require any drivers or software

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Some defects
