Both work great and keep the voltage within a few mV.

We currently use two, one to power the IPS panel at 8 volts and the Compute Stick at 5.1 volts. Both work great and keep the voltage within a few mV regardless of the battery voltage which is between 4.6 and 5.4 volts.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not fancy

Works exactly as advertised

Works great. Yes, in the beginning you have to rotate the jar a lot to get what you want. Plug in a DC meter to see what you're doing. Ideal for boosting the voltage from a PC power supply! I use this as a preliminary stage for an adjustable output meter. I step up the voltage from 12V input to 30V output. The adjustable output meter can therefore reliably deliver 0-24V. Works great!

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • No instructions

Good news: Very low price Bad news

Good news: Very low price Bad news: None of the devices were as advertised. 9.0VDC at 0.1A output. They each required at least 3.7 VDC input for 9 VDC output, as confirmed by my variable DC power supply. It worked perfectly with the A123 twin cell battery pack at 6.6VDC input. Pieces, I keep them.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Damaged

Tangled Junk - Power Supplies

I connected 1000mah Li-Po (4v) to one, the lowest voltage I could get was 6v but I have 4600mah Li-Po (4 V) connected, it went to 4V but doesn't go back up. They also use a huge amount of power, it dropped 1000mah 4v to 3.5v (about half the battery life) in about 2 minutes when I adjusted the voltage without powering anything at all and tried another Wind up amps with similar results. I should have just bought more DROK but no I wanted more for a lower price, you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Lots of things

Good boost converter

Good boost converter. I connected it to about 3.6V, set the output to 5V and connected a regulated load. The output voltage stayed at 5V up to a load of just over 1.3A. At this load it was found that a thermal shutdown had occurred and the voltage dropped rapidly. According to the specification, the XL6009 used in this circuit has thermal protection and protection against excessive switching current (max. 4 A). If you want to get close to the 4A limit, you need a serious heatsink.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Good product!: Power converter

As expected. Just works great. Battery that never worked, I changed the 12v 4ah battery twice and the next time I turned it off the lamp didn't come on. It now uses a lithium ion cell and one of these boost amps from Balance World Inc. 5x Micro USB 5V 1A 18650 Lithium Battery Charger Board with Protection Module which you can find at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product /B00ZUYQ9M4 /ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, no more crashes!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Better stability than I expected

Works great. I'm supplying 13.2V and setting the output to 29.5V. I'm supplying a circuit that draws less than 500mA so I'm using 15W max. I've also used it on a newer 12V wall wart model to easily boosted to the same 29.5V. I used a modified wall wart device to replace the stock wall warts that failed during a thunderstorm. The 29.5V wiring is very long and prone to surges caused by lightning. This caused the original wart to fail, but that circuit has not yet died, although other devices have
