Bought this phone holder for my wife's 2017 Toyota Rav 4. It was very easy to detach and install the dashboard trim with the tool provided. The holder clicks into place and is ready for use. My wife used to have one of the magnetic holders and she likes this one much better.

I have an LG so none of the 7 phone holders fit where my buttons are and my phone's ridiculous height plus all the bases won't get stuck in my stupid car. It took me a few returns to find this one but I just used the base which was perfect for my car but used a mount from Walmart for the phone itself. So for me it was an amazing purchase even though the phone holder didn't fit my phone or the thickness of my case.

I really liked it. Installation wasn't easy, but it suited me. (I thought it would make it more durable) Well it lasted about 3 months and then when I was holding the phone it just broke. The instructions were terrible but luckily there are some good YouTube videos online that are very helpful. This alone will not work with the case. It is designed for thin phones without cases. The part that holds the phone to the dash mount uses the standard ball and socket used by many other mounts. I also bought an air vent holder that fits phones in cases. I used a Rav4 dash mount with a universal phone holder and everything worked great. A bit pricey as I had to buy two holders to get this

Video shows smooth installation using a plastic pry tool. That's the farthest thing from the truth. It took me about 20 minutes and watched a few other videos to figure out where the dash clips were in the molding I was trying to lift. The device itself looks very "dirty". In order to fully fit my phone into the device, I need to remove the Otterbox (Defender series). I'm a clumsy so I don't want to do this.
