A factory replacement rubber mount would have been a lot cheaper. However, it would also be a cheaper quality mount. By using the same mount on previous installations, I had no intention of skimping on anything that important. Considering that this also fits the stock 4.0 liter gearbox and there are many more of these than 2.5, it would be less confusing for future buyers if this fact was stated in the title or description.

It says it will fit all cars from 84-96 or so, I have a 1990 XJ with 4.0 and manual transmission. It was the only polygonal mount appropriate to the style. It fits snugly and lowers the gearbox as it is thicker than the stock bracket. I had to dig through my spare bolts to find a waffle nut because the bracket gets in the way of the stem, but it bolts on. You won't realize how powerful this mount is until you get your hands on it. He probably weighs over 5 pounds and is very stiff. The way the polymer material is attached to the metal plates is really reliable. This bracket fits my 1989 Cherokee 6cyl/auto/4x4 perfectly. I installed this on my 1996 Jeep Cherokee with the AW4 automatic transmission. Fits almost perfectly. It fits perfectly where it needs to BUT the interfaces between the gearbox and the cross member are perfectly parallel. This vehicle's engine and transmission are of course slightly tilted, which means the 'part' of this transmission interface mount needs to be tilted as well. I installed this particular transmission mount on a '94 Jeep XJ Cherokee with a 4.0L engine and AX-15 5 speed manual transmission, having already used Energy Suspension had poly engine mounts installed. A complete "poly modernization" of the powertrain and transmission has significantly changed the way my Jeep shifts, downshifts and revs when the throttle is pushed. With a manual gearbox, the increase in vibration is minimal and hardly noticeable at engine speeds above 700 rpm. There's a slight
