I bought them for rent and damn they are awful. The caps on the ends are plastic that keep falling out. In fact, one just broke while putting it on. I was hoping for something simple and cheap, but they don't even cost $5.

This rod is everything I hoped for and at a very reasonable price. The top is plastic, but who can tell from the window above. Without touching it, you'll never know. The brackets were easy to hang and screw anchors were included. I didn't use the screws in the bracket to attach the bar as I change shades often and didn't find it necessary to screw the bar to the bracket. The bar is nice and strong, but I was very disappointed and upset to find that the tips are plastic - similar to the super cheap plastic you can get at McDonald's Happy Meal . a toy.
