Simple Security: Hardware

The availability and relative simplicity of this locking system made me happy to order two of these products. Installation was easy and this item does what it was designed to do - protect personal documents and/or belongings from damage. It's a quick and easy solution to add another layer of security to your home or office.

Not used for security

Works great. I use it as a final latch for a corner door in an RV. If (all) the latches I installed vibrate, the door still won't open. I had to take some installation measurements to order the correct thickness. It was easy to mount the gasket on the inner hole as the next smaller size didn't match the thickness of the surfaces.

They work well, the buttons are different, the sizes are right.

Bought to fit a lock on a wooden door that was easy to turn into position with any flat tool including another key that shouldn't fit. with a key, and when assembled correctly, they will not turn without this key thanks to the spiked disc. The sizes were correct and when I ordered two they were in fact different keys.

Don't waste time on this product

Don't waste time on this product! The threaded nut that holds the lock barrel in place is NOT properly seated (even with a slight push to loosen) so these locks will not install as intended. You could make great paper. In fact, they're not even decent paper. They're COMPLETELY USELESS unless you want to throw them at the neighbor's punk when he's speeding past your house!

Terrible cheap product!

Terrible! Don't waste money! After installation according to the instructions (I had to drill a hole in the cupboard, there is no going back) it worked five times (tightly and jerkily). The key will be difficult to put in the lock and difficult to turn but I thought I got what I paid for so I shrugged and moved on. However, after trying to insert the key again, I couldn't insert it more than a few millimeters into the lock. I could see there was a piece of metal hanging in the lock preventing…
