Works great for power supplies

Nice unit, does exactly what I need to run 12v on my desk. November 2019; I'm updating my review after a month of using this adapter. I'm very happy with it and it delivers exceptional performance when I need it - no problem. This corresponds to the price of a quality product.

More reliable power supplies Accessories

I needed a power supply for my astronomical telescope mount. After a recommended power supply from another manufacturer failed after a few hours of use, I decided on the (also recommended) Pyramid and, to be on the safe side, decided on a model with significantly more power than I theoretically needed. This model also has three types of output connectors that you can use. I am very satisfied after a few days of use.

  • Great for me

  • Lots of stuff

Great value for money: Power Accessory

A few years ago I built kits and fixed CB radios. I had a similar device, but without a cigarette lighter in the car. I've just gotten back into the hobby and have found it very handy for working with my GPS and other things. I'm a radio amateur and I know it won't provide enough power to use my transmitter, but I should turn my receiver on when needed. I am very satisfied with the ratio (price + quality) of this device. I recommend this provider/device.

Ground LOOP Noise from Hell!

I tried a Pyramid power supply for my ham radio. During the test, the power supply could cause a ground loop, causing the radio's internal speaker to emit HELLA BUZZ. This happened at all radio power levels. But when transmitting I was told that no noise is transmitted. Which was amazing. Then the USB power port didn't even work! So, it's POS! And was returned. Don't waste your time and money, invest in something better! The pyramid is no longer the same.

Turns off when button is pressed

I couldn't find my regulated linear power supply when I took my Kenwood D710 radio out of the car so I bought it for temporary power. My Kenwood draws 70 watts at 12 volts at full power, or 5.8 amps if you know Ohm's Law. This power supply claims to be able to deliver 12 amps of current. no I turn on the transmitter to start talking and it fails. I finally found my MCP linear power supply which is a 6 amp power supply and works great with my radio. I can transmit at full power with no problems.

  • Regulated Power Supply Design

Used for the Midland MXT400 Receiver

At full transmit power (sometimes 50W with a matched antenna) my MXT400 draws 118W. This power supply just purrs (ie quietly and steadily). I don't hear a switch hash in my transmitted voice or received signal. This rating is for the 12A model. 04/12/21 The power supply fails. That is no longer 13.8V, but 12.0V. Load regulation is 6% instead of the advertised 0.01%. When transmitting it drops to 11.4V. I can't find any guarantee. I found the manufacturer. You said that a large voltage drop is a

DO NOT BUY THIS for Power Converter

This product looked like what I needed for my ham radio power source. While it was powering the device, it wasn't working properly in the background. When using my radio, other listeners complained about the 60 Hz background hum. I literally spent weeks trying to figure out the source, from using an extension cord to grounding issues and a nearby freezer. Nothing will get rid of the noise. One night an old man said on the internet he was pretty sure it was the power supply. Well I took a big…
