Well made but VERY small.

Product well finished as expected. However, pay particular attention to the term "youngest childโ€. Actually, it should be "baby/my first backpack". It is really very small and I had to send it back. I don't think it's the manufacturer or seller.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • some flaws

Amazing and excellent quality

Amazing and excellent quality as expected. We are giving this to our 5 year old for Christmas to join the marching ranks and carry his stuff. It doesn't fit in his sleeping bag, but it's big enough for his own clothes, dishes, water bottle and a few other small items, so it's the perfect size for a five-year-old.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Disappear

Perfect camping backpack for my 6 year old

Bought this summer for my 6 year old for a weekend camping trip. It was handy that she could carry her clothes for 2 days, a camping pillow and a sleeping bag (not inside but rolled up and held by my top flap). Aside from that, I also think it's not too big and it wouldn't be good to just use it as a daypack for a day hike.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Just right for my 3'10 " boy

This is the perfect size for my 5 year old son. It is almost 4ft tall and not too tall when packed. This will last until it reaches almost 5" I think. It depends on when he needs more gear. It includes his sleeping bag, some loose change, snacks and two bottles of water. It's fully primed for short hikes and overnight camping. I wish he had a waist belt, but for the 10 pounds he'll be carrying he'll probably be fine.

  • This is amazing

No worse than the previous model.

Such a high quality backpack. I prefer it to other more expensive brands. My oldest son is now 3 years old and still looks brand new. It was the same model, just an older version. Holds up great. Only criticism is that my daughter's thermos keeps falling out of the side pocket. This was NO problem in my son's bag with the same bottle. I don't know how to fix this, maybe I can sew the pockets together to make them smaller?

  • Price
Cons
  • Modernity

Quality and comfort for all ages

We love our Deuters. Perfect size for kids (little 7 and 9 years old) to carry their backpacks on the go. The kids find it comfortable to wear and I sometimes take one with me when I need a comfortable backpack for a little trip. However, only 4 stars because Deuter has revised the junior backpack. The old design had more zippers, loops and reflective tape, and the bottle cages were mesh rather than one piece (son has the new version in mind). Prefer the old new and I regret not buying two ways

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Thin

Great backpack for day trips - my 4 and 7 year olds love it

I felt the kids were old enough for their own day packs so we ordered a pair of Deuter Juniors after we saw them in the store holiday, and then regret not buying them. We've done three hikes since then and I can't recommend them highly enough. Kids easily adjust their stuff (raincoats, water bottles, magazines, cameras) without weighing the backpack down, the chest clip came in handy. The shoulder straps are heavily padded, which was a must for us when buying a backpack. Our hikes ranged fromโ€ฆ

7 year old loves it, perfect size for hiking or biking

It looks small compared to 'school' backpacks but upon closer inspection they are just too big and uncomfortable. My 7 year old girl loves this bag, it's called the "Adventure Bag". I (hand) sewed a double-sided velcro on the inside of the upper back to allow this backpack to carry a hydration bladder. This allows it to hang from a support even though there is no sleeve or anything like that. The hose just exits at the top, there's always room for the hose even if it's narrow. The bladder stays

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Frequency

Side pockets shame

This is a good backpack for kids. See photo, it fits my little almost 9 year old child in a jacket. And it has enough space to undo the straps. It's pretty roomy, although we won't be using it for school. I don't see an option to conveniently place a folder there. Nature notebook, yes. Along with lunch, drinks, a toy and everything your child needs for a hike. It's very durable, well made and I expect it will survive a lot of nature trails. My biggest issue and the reason for 4 stars is thatโ€ฆ
