This is NOT a very well made bit holder. The wire clamp intended to hold the bit is flimsy at best. I used a bit holder in a 1/4 hex slot and the wire holder eventually gave up. I needed this bit holder to drive screws into the soundboard with an impact wrench. I ended up using epoxy and glued the bit holder onto the hex head and it worked. After that I ordered a Milwaukee unit and it is MUCH better made. This is not up to usual Dewalt standards.

I was very disappointed in this product as I bought it for an impact driver bit. DeWalt sells long bits specifically for this purpose. You have a bit on both ends of the workpiece. Unfortunately, they get too deep into this bond and get completely stuck. I ended up digging a hole in the ground to get it out. Very frustrating. Works well for short pieces, but this deficiency would have put me off purchasing had I known about it beforehand. Fair warning!

Does your 1/2" drum spend most of its time waiting for bigger work? Take it out of the toolbox and use it again to expand its capabilities. Get it get this 1/2" to 1/4" quick charge adapter and it will work for you again. Use all your 1/4" drive bits, drill bits and other accessories with your 1/2 drive tool. With a little care your impact tool is a lot more powerful than the 1/4" screwdriver or drill you're used to. Don't rush until you get used to ten times the power.
