Good cheap digital converter

I needed to transfer a long channel digital signal from my TV's optical output to a headphone amplifier. The distance was too long to be managed entirely with fiber optic cable. This device allowed me to use a short optical cable and then mostly convert it to coax. That works great. It's also designed to work in reverse, ie converting from coax to optical, but I haven't tried it that way.

Extended the life of my audio/video setup.

This little device does what it promises. I have a Yamaha soundbar with digital input and a DVD player that only has HDMI and coaxial digital audio output. With this case, I can now connect my DVD player to the soundbar and experience the full depth of the music on my DVD. It will be fine until I update one of them again, maybe in another three or four years? So you spent about $12 to get this expansion. Definitely worth it.
