I don't think it's the softest blanket but it's light weight and not hard so I'm satisfied. I'm taking off a star for quality and because it looks like a green underlay in the pictures of the crib and I wanted a mostly green blanket but it's not. The one I received only has a green border. UPDATE: Have been using them for a few weeks now and love them more than ever! The perfect blanket to swaddle my newborn.
