Description of 🖥️ DTECH HDMI Dummy Plug 4K Display Emulator: Enhance Compatibility on Windows, Mac OSX, Linux (fit-Headless, 3 Pack)

3 packs 4K HDMI dummy plug makes PC to enable GPU for doing tasks: high resolution GPU accelerated remote desktop and GPGPU operations like cryptocurrency mining, rendering and simulations. Compact HDMI headless ghost adapter emulates a high resolution up to 4K 4096x2160 display to make a computer run "headless" (without a keyboard, mouse, and monitor). Simple fit-headless display emulator is plug-and-play on Windows MAC OS Linux; no driver or external powered needed; solves the Apple OSX headless display issue. Gold plated HDMI dummy dongle ensures stable digital signal and unlocks the full potential of graphics card, ideal for game-streaming, VR and using Mac Mini server with screen sharing, etc. Small low-cost virtual screen display emulator is a must-have for server and colocation farms, SOHO and home servers and remote-deployed headless PCs.

Why?! for computers and accessories

I had no idea this thing even existed until I came across a support thread for my issue. I have a headless computer set to random, but the graphics card in it would not allow any resolution other than 640x480 when connected to it remotely unless a detectable monitor was connected. Now I can team view this device in full 4k beauty.

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Ideal for my use as computer accessories and peripherals

These buttons are perfect for generating a signal that trickes your computer into thinking a monitor is connected. I bought them to have remote access to some workstations. without monitors and found that my software doesn't like it when no monitor is connected. I connected one of them and now I have a desktop for remote access. I suspect they will work for 3060 GPUs to break the speed limit set by Nvidia for mining.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Available in white only

I wish I had known about this years ago.

I have several laptops that I connect to remotely and some programs don't appear on my page when the laptop screen is closed. This fixes that problem (you can also connect an external monitor if that suits you). They also allow you to increase the screen resolution if the original resolution is too low (e.g. from 1024 x 768 to 1920 x 1080). It would be nice if they could make them smaller, like the size of a Logitech Nano receiver.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Works as advertised up to 4K

I'm building a few GPU mining rigs for the first time and need to access them remotely as they will be running Windows now. I wanted to run them headless so there would be no cords or wires leading to them other than the power cord. I didn't get it, the remoting software I used would not connect to them if there was no video signal coming from the GPU. Inserted these dummy plugins, tried them and works as advertised. I can also change the resolution to 4K in the remoting software if needed…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Mostly fine, but...

THIS IS WHAT I ORDERED

I use 1440p on my main monitor and remotely connect to various computers around the house as I hate extending 1080p laptop displays on my endpoint. any remote machine and is only worth a fraction of the 4KFit accessory I bought a few years ago for the same purpose. BONUS: My new work laptop, a 10th gen i7 computer, actually upscales the 1080p display to the *key* resolution connected to HDMI, which is something I've never seen before. The LCD screen is sharp and natural quality enough for all…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • poorly thought out

EXACTLY WHAT I ORDERED

I use 1440p on my main monitor and remote access to various computers around the house, hating to stretch 1080p laptop displays on my endpoint. I just left them plugged into any remote machine and they cost a fraction of the 4KFit accessories I bought for the same purpose a few years ago. BONUS: My new work laptop, a 10th gen i7 computer, actually upscales the 1080p display to match the *dongle* resolution connected via HDMI, which I've never seen. The LCD screen is sharp and natural quality…

Pros
  • Gold plated HDMI dongle provides a stable digital signal and unlocks the full potential of your graphics card, ideal for game streaming, VR, Mac mini server use with screen sharing, etc.
Cons
  • Only available in black

Big! I wish I had known this many years ago!

Three units arrived as described. The manufacturer had a quality package with all three packed in a single protective zipped bag. (I know there's a name for it, but it eludes me). One hooked up to an old Retina laptop and the other two were headless miniatures by mid-2011. Now I get 1080p on two minis and 4096x2160 on a powerbook. Actually I have to resize it to 2560x1440 on Powerbook to fit my monitor. Bonus, the Powerbook can remain closed and still active. Mini 2011 are servers. I still…

Pros
  • A small, low-cost virtual screen emulator is required for servers and colocation farms, home and home servers, and remotely deployed headless PCs.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Also emulates audio

Some netbooks are set up for use as music players in restaurants and must be left with the lid closed. On recent laptop models, a closed lid has disabled the GPU, causing problems with the remote management software. (not working at all, bugs etc.) Adding a Ghost adapter forces the GPU to stay active, which solves the remote access problem. Since they are used to play music, I wanted to buy USB audio adapters and assign the Music app to them, leaving the laptop's speakers as default for Windows

Pros
  • Simple plug-and-play headless display emulator for Windows MAC OS Linux; no driver or external power required; solves Apple OSX headless display problem
Cons
  • Available in white only
