DJI should include this base just like in the OSMO Mobile 2 package. With the base you can do a lot more with your smartphone and OSMO Mobile 2 such as: Time lapse in motion. You can do the same with your small tripod, but the feeling of a complete set is priceless.

It does exactly what it promises. Ideal for positioning your Osmo Mobile 2 and using all the functions (video*pause, long exposure/blueprint photo, panorama) of the DJI Go app when you want your Osmo to be as frozen as possible. If you have a tripod you might not need it, your Osmo can be attached directly to it.

This is a very reliable and durable product. Works great on flat surfaces. You might have a little trouble on uneven surfaces, but to be honest you should still use a tripod unless you're on a flat surface. The only downside to this product is that it didn't come bundled with the Osmo Mobile 2 itself. Well, still a must have for any gimbal enthusiast.

I wonder why I bought this now that I have it. It's solidly built and works very well if you just place it on a flat surface indoors. As they say, this is where their usefulness ends. It is unweighted so can easily be blown away by the wind and must be placed on a flat, stable surface or it will tip over. The Osmo base fits a standard tripod screw.
