📷 DJI Osmo Base Stand Review

I have DJI's first Osmo and I love it but why it doesn't come with a built in tripod mount is beyond me. This fixes that issue. And even if you don't have to mount it on a tripod, it's nice to be able to just mount the Osmo on its base instead of finding a weak spot and carefully setting it down. (One thing I've found is if you're buying this add-on hoping to shoot with the Osmo, don't worry. Even with it mounted on a tripod and its gimbal locked, it will drift it. much. )

Honestly this should have been bundled with the original Osmo, Osmo+ and Osmo Mobile. Besides, it shouldn't have been necessary. With the Osmo Mobile 2, they did the right thing and simply added a 1/4-20 tripod thread socket to the bottom. However, it works well with my original Osmo and Osmo Mobile, providing a secure gimbal with enough weight to sit securely on a smooth surface while making necessary adjustments or shooting. The product does the job and is really needed to set up an Osmo device. My only major criticism of this product is that it was supposed to be included in the Osmo box and is not sold separately. You really shouldn't just store the Osmo horizontally on a table due to the mechanical nature of the device. It has to be stored upright and that is only possible with this base. Very frustrating.
