🧵 DMC CR5440-6750 Classic Reserve Aida Fabric, 12 by 18-Inch, White, 14 Count Review

This is a standard cross stitch fabric. I tested it before planning my project and noticed a dark spot on the fabric. I gently washed the fabric in warm soapy water (which is basically what I do when a project is complete) and found that the stain had not gone away. I will use this for small projects, not the big one I had planned.

I used this (and some fabric glue) to seal the holes in my straw cowboy hat. I simply cut out the Aida slightly larger than the hole and glued it to the inside of the hat. You can't see it from the outside. I just wish there was a color (much darker) that went better with my cowboy hat (I had a hole in the brim of the hat and you can see the Aida under the brim if I look.

Material is great but it's my fault I didn't check the dimensions of this fabric because after ordering I found another DMC fabric at Revain that was larger in the tube and not pleated , and that was the same price. But other than that, I found a pattern for 12" x 18" fabric and am working on it when I finished writing this review.

I am satisfied with my order. It comes folded and I can see how the folded crease would interfere with a large cross stitch; For me, pleats were perfect because most of what I do is small anyway. After I'm done I will glue all 4 sides so it won't fall apart when cleaning. I use the toothbrush gently with soapy water, I put it on a flat surface to dry. Becomes softer, more supple after the first wash. Everything was exactly as I expected.

Perfect for cross stitch, the material is very strong and durable. I use them with a PIXNOR embroidery hoop, a cross stitch hoop, a set of embroidery and quilting circles - from 5" to 10.71" that leave temporary marks on the fabric itself. fabric at once. I suggest fixing this by using a small piece of tape to cover each of the four corners.

I bought this to use on a counted cross stitch chart. Before I started I wanted to iron out some creases after delivery and it ironed well with no creases. Unlike some of the cheaper fabrics that come in the kits, it doesn't constantly fray at the edges and provides a good work surface. Antique White isn't overly yellow, but it's definitely creamy (as I expected) and not white. For my vintage style sampler, the color gives it a nice antique look.

I learned cross stitch with this product. I haven't used everything. I used a small part to learn how to make seams. I think I have an understanding of how to make each of them. From the other part I made a small pattern from the collection of dental floss in different colors. Each ball of dental floss is a different color. This little pattern fits in the palm of your hand.
