Don't waste your money

It's just a waste of money because it only works fine for a few months and then in my case it starts to cause even worse problems and the genuine part it will move my truck from 2 to 4 while driving and a lifetime warranty they claim to have an ally for not sending me a replacement.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Has been damaged

Terrible lighting

I replaced this switch because the light bulbs in my home were burned out. This looked great into the night when not only were the necessary labels highlighted very nicely, but everything around each slot in the switch. Looked very cheap. Went back and bought the original factory part off ebay for about $20 more.

Pros
  • Best in their niche
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Problem solved in 4WD

Had a terrible 4WD service report on my 2004 Tahoe. Went through the stages of reviewing the pad, front wheel drive etc, took a picture and bought it. no more message As research will tell you this may be accidental, luckily for me it was a problem. Do your research first and then start with the cheapest replacement part, which is this one.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not the best

Good replacement for factory 4WD control panel

Installation is easy; Pull up the dash bezel (see YouTube for some very good video tutorials), gently pry the plastic mounting clips off the selector body, remove the body and put in a new one. Insert the new selector switch and attach the instrument panel bezel. and you did No further work is required.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Lifespan = 22 months

This little thing was good while it lasted. I purchased this part directly from Revain in November 2016. Well, it's already broken. What you say? They don't make them like they used to. Anyway I bought another one and plugged it in and now it works fine. Just be prepared to buy this part every few years. I think it's better than paying a mechanic to tinker around and look for someone who knows what might go wrong and charge me hundreds. Enjoy your car repair adventure!

Great for derailleurs

My 2003 Suburban would not shift from 2WD to 4WD (and vice versa), only the power light (red) would come on. After seeing code C0374 I found that the most common problem is this 4WD switch. The dealer wanted to sell me his OEM version for 2.5 times the price of this Dorman switch! This does not make removal and installation any easier. Youtube even has a video on how to replace this switch. Just open the dashboard and pull out this switch. A simple solution to a potentially expensive diagnosisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Does what it should.

I occasionally get the message "Service 4WD system" on my 2005 Z71. I read that this switch is often a problem, so I bought it. It is very easy to replace, no tools required. I started the truck to allow myself to lower the shifter to the minimum. Lower the steering wheel as far as possible. Grab the dashboard and gently pull it toward the back of the truck. It is held with several clips. Wrap it around the steering wheel and set it aside. The 4WD switch just pulls straight back. Change it to a

Good, Not Great: All Wheel Drive

2006 Silverado 4x4 Crew Cab LT1 5.3L V8Pros. So far everything works great. The seams work like the original. Very close to the original. Cons: A gap around the edge of the keys allows amber light to shine over the edge. - For some reason, the words "AUTO" and "4WD" on the "Auto 4WD" button are slightly different shades of white. - The buttons are loose compared to the original - The white writing is much thicker than the original text The reason for the purchase is that I get 4WD SERVICE on my
