Smaller than expected

You are smaller than I thought. In fact, two can be used for a regular bread recipe. It's not a big deal, but don't expect a really full bread from any of them.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • No form required

These work great!

I've worked with two different types of baskets and they work great. They're easy to clean, leave a nice pattern on my finished loaves, and don't have any protruding fragments (a nasty problem with some other baskets). I highly recommend them.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Good for a new bread baker.

I'm just starting to bake bread and love the proofing basket. Bread got stuck on first use (probably not enough flour) but subsequent loaves came out fine. The basket seems strong enough for normal use, but it cannot withstand prolonged daily use.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Very expensive

A little less so far. perfect for what i do.

It is about 9 inches long. It's obviously less than it should have been, but I think it's perfect for me and I'm buying more at this point. It's understandable that some are disappointed, but I'm not. I couldn't find 9 inch oval Bannetons anywhere else.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • A long time ago

Wrong size as stated

Totally false advertising! It says you get 2 oval 10" bannetons but that's not what I got! They are much smaller than advertised. I already have a 10" banneton and this would be a great purchase. They fit my current banneton. They measure about 9" and aren't that deep at all. I will never buy from this seller again!

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • It's okay

Linen lining Tears at the seam on the first wash

The title says it all. The quality of the baskets themselves seems solid enough, but one of the two inserts tore at the seam the first time it went through the washing machine, along with the rest of my kitchen towels and apron. Most likely, they will look for an American-made replacement, paying particular attention to the quality of the liners. The linen liners inside are also quite porous, but as these are my first proofing baskets I don't know if that would be a problem.

Poor quality liner

Like many others across the country, I have made the decision to bake sourdough bread during this pandemic. I ordered these banettons to replace the lined plastic basket I was using. It took about a month for the baskets to arrive due to the world situation. So I was excited when I finally got them but was disappointed with one of the earbuds. It had a hole in one of the seams! No big deal, it still works fine. I was just a little disappointed with the poor quality of the insoles. Otherwise…

Lots of splinters: proofing baskets

There are three problems with these baskets. I would recommend staying away from this product.1. They're poorly made, with lots of rattan splinters and metal clips everywhere. At the junction of the two spliced ends in one of the two baskets there is a 3mm gap between the coils. I'm concerned about swallowing these fragments as some of the long, thick fibers break easily2. The delivery took a long time. It took me almost a month to receive them. The packaging was also of poor quality: a…

Surprised by the small size but suited my needs

I gave this banneton four stars instead of five because it is smaller than the size stated in the description. I also bought two round Doyolla trays which are also smaller than the description says. However, they did an excellent job on my loaves made from 100g sourdough, 450g flour, 310g water and 8g salt. The batter filled bannetons sat in the fridge all night and I was pretty sure they would overflow, but the batter really didn't rise that much in the fridge. I wish I'd actually photographed

Pros
  • Fermentation Basket
Cons
  • Not bad

DO NOT DO THAT! There are better ovals.

This is in addition to the already bad review I gave. These things are not food. Do not buy. Since I couldn't get the rotten smell out, I soaked them again. This time I used a full cap of bleach and the water turned BLACK. I live in New Orleans. This stuff looks like black mold! This is dangerous! Not good. Quality is NOT a standard. The linen pads smelled like they had been soaked in period pellets, and even though I soaked them in a solution of cold water, lemon, and a little Mrs. Myers dish…
