Description of πŸ”§ Dremel 652 Straight Routing 16 Inch: Precision Tool for Accurate Routing and Trimming

For routing, inlaying, mortising in woods and other soft materials. 1/8" Shank. Manufactured in China. For best results insert bit in tool and back out slightly before tightening down to provide plenty of shank for the collect or chuck to hold the bit. Secure objects to a stable surface while working. If chattering occurs, increase speed. Routing bit, 3/16-inch straight, high speed steel, great for routing, inlaying and mortising in wood and other soft materials.

Good Dremel bit, many uses

Bit works as expected and delivered quickly. Every high-speed cutter becomes blunt easily to quickly when exposed to heat. Take your time and your teeth will last longer.

Pros
  • For routing, tapping, chiselling in wood and other soft materials
Cons
  • Drill bit pack

Poor cutting edge quality

When I opened the Amazon package, I saw that the cutting edge was insanely jagged. Guaranteed only 1/8 depth of cut. It seems that Dremel's quality control for their bits is pretty low.

Pros
  • If chattering occurs, increase speed
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Crazy Idea: Milling Bits

Never think you've got a Dremel can use as a router. Get a router instead. The Dremel router bits (all) are too weak to be useful, the Notor lacks power and speed, and the bits are of poor quality. Buying this cutter at full price only made the injury worse.

Pros
  • For best results, insert the bit into the tool and pull it out slightly before tightening to provide enough shank to gather or chuck to hold the bit
Cons
  • Insecure
