Pictures from 1994!

Probably good. I haven't used them. The package I received is from 1994. That's right guys. I have pictures from 1994! I'm hesitant to use them given their age and I use them for baby stuff. strange.

First time user Snap

I bought this item because of a homemade scarf. I didn't realize until I used it that the prongs are different lengths depending on the bar size. The product worked for me but I had to use a shorter needle or smaller button size. I used these buttons on thin material of the scarf. They'll probably work well with heavier gauge knits, maybe even khaki material. This was my first time using snaps and the instructions provided were very helpful, clear and concise.

terrible product: sewing

I made a mistake by buying this set twice, please don't waste your time and repeat my mistake. If you are looking for snaps, buy snaps or KAMsnaps plastic snaps. This tool is terrible - it breaks very easily and takes 2-3 times to enter. I've searched YouTube from start to finish and watched tutorials - I'm doing it right, the tool just isn't durable for its intended purpose. Also, I have used them to make baby clothes for gifts and the recipient said they are not easy to use when dressing and…

Rest assured and use this brand

I'm giving this 5 stars for a reason. The reason is not that there are no defects. However, compared to several other orders, this "famous brand" is so far superior to others that I just threw away the rest. This brand from Dritz can be worn with confidence on a garment, backpack or any other item. An unnamed brand I ordered and used had to be canceled and renewed by Dritz. The unnamed brand just stopped clicking or crumpling when pressed, or just "reformed" in my fingers due to cheap metal. I…

Fail too often

These buttons are great when they match well. But there seem to be too many times where the tines fail during assembly. I follow the instructions, which involve putting the spool of thread on the latch and then gently tapping it with a hammer while the piece is resting on something soft. Sometimes it works like a breeze, and other times I have to go through a few jagged spots (which then get lost) before I can get a finished shot. And even then, latches sometimes fail during use - they fall…

Very good quality clasps

As advertised. 5 stars for the mounts. 3 stars for the device. The tool works, but don't plan to use it very far from the edge of the material, especially for large sizes. Folding the material to fit this tool will raise the clasp and the nature of the clasp will not allow it to be placed more than 3/4 inch from the edge of the fabric. This is due to the blocking of the structure they use to prevent it from shifting. To place fasteners farther from the edge, use a smaller size. Thus, more…

It worked somehow.

Pros: Inexpensive Comes with four size 16 fasteners More or less works. Cons: Awkward to use - There are two indentations to accommodate the serrated portion of each half of the bar, one for a size 15 bar and one for a size 16 bar. You only have about 1 inch of room past the bar. So if, like in my case, you need to build a 3" latch into the fabric, you have to fold the fabric twice toward you, which won't completely close the device even if you hit it with a hammer, and the fasteners don't fit…

Pros
  • Button fasteners are used as fasteners for sewing and DIY repairs
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
