Barely works. The stitch hole is round with no flat edges to keep the needle from spinning before inserting it into the machine.

The hole that holds the sewing machine needle is round. Sewing machine needles are NOT round; They have a flat side and the rest of the needle is round. It is imperative that the flat side is inserted into the machine in the correct position. I couldn't keep the needle in the right position with this inserter.

When I bought my serger, the shopkeeper showed me all the possibilities. I was more interested in this little needle inserter she was using. I had never seen anything like this in the hardware section of my favorite fabric store and ordered it straight home. I'm so glad I did this and it really saves time. I used to have problems when I had to change needles, but no longer. The product was received on time.

Exactly what I wanted - a needle setter! – and the price was right. :) My needle inserter got chewed off by a bored dog and I needed a new one. I couldn't find the model that came with my car so I figured I'd just buy something that would help. You only need this to make sure the needle is in snugly before you tighten it, so it doesn't have to be fancy or anything. A lot of them have useless tools (or extra ones) on the other end, but this one had at least one brush that's at least useful…
