This clasp will spend the rest of its life in a drawer somewhere. I was under the impression that it was a 1 inch fastener. I had to fix a torn bikini top. This is too little. I'm not good with returns. You give me a lot of trouble so now forever I will have a half inch product that I never use.

When the clip on my brand new and very expensive swimsuit broke I was devastated! I tried to find a way to fix the clip but when I realized it would never work I started looking for a new clip. Be sure to measure the width of the strap before buying! They fit my needs perfectly and looked very similar to the original clips. but these are much stronger!

The plastic hook on my 12 year old daughter's swim trunks broke so I used that to replace it. I sewed it on and it does the job. I agree that the clasp had notches or something that could catch the material instead of a smooth hook. Sometimes when my daughter is very active in the pool the clasp comes off because it is a smooth surface. Also, it's a thick plastic clip and feels very sturdy.

I needed them to fix a bathing suit and metal is much stronger than plastic especially for those with large breasts and something to hold up. I probably should have gone 1 inch but they fit my suit perfectly. The only downside I have is that they have absolutely no grip so the fabric slips off the hook very easily. There are some that have a ridge down the middle to better hold the fabric in place, they would probably be preferred but I found these on Amazon and needed them quickly.
