Magic seam ripper

Dear magic seam ripper, where have you been my whole sewing life? Big side and small side. Seam eraser on both ends so you don't have to repeat it to use it. I never knew such a thing existed and spent a million minutes ripping tiny threads out of my sewing boo-boos. Now I just run the "eraser" over the fabric and voila! Magic.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • unreliable

Don't buy this. You will thank me

The blades were dull and didn't break or cut threads. If I have to use a seam ripper I'll go insane. Then throw in the frustration of a brand new boring product. OMG, this made me want to invent a new language. I figured it might work better as an arrow, but didn't want to invest in drywall repairs. The seam ripper should have come with Xanax, but this one was supposed to come with a whole bottle of Xanax. Do not do that. Just buy one. Twins have never been so good. It's nasty enough to makeโ€ฆ

Cap does not fit on the back

The cap of this puller cannot be put on the back like a pen cap. In this case you can lose the big rubbing end/cap. There are two grippy rubbing surfaces (one on the back of the ripper and one on the lid) which is nice, but the lack of a lid that doesn't fit the back of the machine is a real disappointment to me. I bought two of these (one for my friend's house) and I'm not sure it's worth my $9 to return them, but I hate this product. It's also what I would call a giant seam ripper - maybeโ€ฆ

Terribly annoying that the header can't be placed on.

Terribly annoying that the connector cannot be mounted on the back of the case. I always try to find where it rolls while using the ripper, which is pretty counterproductive. The difference in price between this and a plain old seam ripper is hard for me to justify. UPDATE: I've had it for about two years now. My everyday seam ripper is now a surgical blade (I've completely modified it, give it a try!) so it mostly sits unused in the sewing box. However, I use the cap every now and then. Itโ€ฆ

Top ist super -- Sewing tools

The seam ripper is just another seam ripper , but it is great . Wonder. Faced with the need to tear up the old ceiling. It would be easy to break. I have completed my masters degree in sewing. How can you learn if you don't make mistakes and correct them, right? What I was afraid of was all these little threads. Lots of small bits of thread would need to be removed from the pieces, as would the floor, my clothes, the dog, etc. The vacuum would take care of the floor. A washer and dryer for myโ€ฆ

So easy to use and looks great!

This is a great ripper, easy to use and very durable. I always buy regular seam openers like the pink ones shown in my photos, but they come apart so easily that I'm going through them faster than I should. I mainly use the seam ripper for my cross stitch hobby where I don't always have to rip the stitches, but I do remove them while leaving the floss/thread intact. For this job, this ripper is perfect. I don't always have to use a rubber tip due to the need to keep the filament intact, butโ€ฆ
