It seems to work but the SD card slot.

It seems to work but the SD card slot is only 2.0 speed. With the device labeled 3.0, I expected 3.0 speed. It's too slow to read and write my cards.

Pros
  • hard drive case
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Works perfectly! on hard drive housing

Worked great. I was a bit skeptical at first after reading the reviews of these docking units so have always used cases. I wanted to be able to shift faster and this device fitted the bill perfectly.

Pros
  • Computer and accessories
Cons
  • No instructions

Works great - great price

I bought this docking station for about $12 and am completely satisfied in order to. The kit contains everything you need - except for the hard drive, of course. I've used this for several 2.5" SATA drives, a couple of 3.5" drives and a couple of SD cards on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Linux and Windows 10 systems. Everything reads and writes perfectly, no problems. The only thing I don't like is that there is no dust cover for the 2.5 inch hole. I modeled and 3D printed a simple overlay for this and it's

Pros
  • Supports 2.5" and 3.5" SATA I/II hard drives
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Killed two of my drives.

This thing successfully destroyed two of my drives. On my first drive using this dock to move files to my new 5TB drive, I suddenly got error 0x80070570 when I tried to . After safely removing the drive, I put it in a different enclosure and it gave me an error message saying the drive needed to be formatted and had no recognizable volume. I thought maybe the drive is bad. But that was rather unusual, since I rarely used the record without problems and only now. Is he out of order? I then…

Pros
  • Easy docking and undocking of a hard drive
Cons
  • Speed
