Should have come back sooner. Could never use it for my homemade bread. Pretty poorly built and should also be able to adjust to the overall height and width of the loaf. If the bread doesn't fit, you can't use it for slicing!

This product has an internal width of 5.1 inches. Instead, it's 4.75 inches. I would give 5 stars if it was the size they represent. This is the size I need for my bread. I have to squeeze the bread which makes the slicing uneven. The slicer glides easily. My husband put rubber feet on it and it holds up great.

After a little practice, I got the hang of it. I read all the reviews and am very happy with it. I use it for bread in the car. I just tuck in all the corners and gently press as I cut. The 2 pound loaf was too big so I laid it on its side and cut it top to bottom. I wash my cutting guide in the top rack of the dishwasher. Generally worth the money.
