According to my experience, these boots are absolutely stunning and provide great ankle support. The leather is high quality, and the boots are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. These boots, like other Dublin boots, are really designed for riding, unless otherwise stated in the description. If you're planning on using them as casual boots, you might not like the reinforced sole support, but it should provide stability in the stirrups. This boot is true to size and wide enough to accommodate thicker socks. I wear half toes and tuck them in at the top, not like other paddock boots. Very warm and has been doing very well with housework so far. Highly recommended.
