Anti vibe and stick good!

The wind blowing through the visor of my helmet was making an odd noise so I bought it hoping it would beat the vibrations. It turned out somehow. I have many things left over and I keep finding new uses for them. From the annoying rumble in my truck to the soothing sound of a hard drive in my computer case! Most of the time, only a small piece of the irritating material is needed.

Vibration killer good for speakers

Bought actually to use in my house to muffle the chimney resonating from the downstairs subwoofer. We have a wood stove downstairs that we don't really use. The submarine caused vibrations in the pipe that passed through the ceiling. I applied one of the items in this kit and then played a few tracks with low bass and the resonance was gone! I have used Dynamat in my car in the past and it has worked great but wasn't sure at home. Very happy and have an extra sheet for future assignments!

Dynamat really works but there are cheaper options

Dampens vibrations well. But it cost too much. Did you know that you can walk into any Pella window shop and buy practically the same thing for about half the price? It's just an aluminum based butyl tape. The same material is used in roofing, building and window installation. It's a little heavy, but you can always try a layer of Pella tape and if that's not enough, add another if needed. There is nothing magical about their wording, although they would like you to believe that.

Not only suitable for car audio

Dynamat is used for sound insulation and heat resistance. I used it to plug an air vent in our kitchen by applying it to the outer metal casing under the stove. This prevented thin metal parts from vibrating when the fan was turned on. For this use case it worked fine. I will also be using it to replace the sound deadening material that has come loose from the bottom of our stainless steel kitchen sink. Without sound-absorbing material, the slightest impact on something hard and the sink will…

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging

Not only for automotive applications!

I have not used this pack for speakers or anything car related, I have used it to dampen vibrations in a computer case. This is the correct size and amount to apply to problem areas on a computer's side panels. This material did the job perfectly, better than some materials made specifically for computer applications that I have used in the past. The material is really great. It's not just foam like you'd expect from other acoustic dampening solutions, but a heavy, dense, rubber-like slab. It…

Good stuff but a pain to install.

Just finished installing it on my Jeep JK Unlimited. I'm only giving it four stars because its installation was so excruciating. My sound is better and the car is quieter and I haven't even put the carpet back on. Like many other reviewers, my hands have been hurting for the last two days due to small cuts on the thin film and back. Squeeze your wrists and squeeze them into place. I think gloves wouldn't work when trying to separate the backing from the sticky side. You can see the front edge…
