🚀 Scale Model: Earth Mars Moon Marble Review

I sent this to my adult son at his office for no other reason than during these times when we need to be reminded that there is bigger than us. He liked it, immediately placed the marbles on coasters on his desk and told me his colleagues crowded around to admire them! It's really cool that they are proportional to the real Earth, Mars, and Moon and contain information on how far you need to place them to estimate their distance from each other. Excellent, in the truest sense of the word.

Earth marble is very good. Martian marble is good. But moon marble is disappointing. It doesn't have much detail at all, just a few circles and dark spots. I can't even pick Tycho, which should be the moon's most recognizable feature. If you're looking for a well-scaled image, that's fine; but I was actually more interested in the moonmarble than the other two, which is a disappointment. I love this set and use it when I give presentations about astronomy and space to the general public. The terrestrial and moon globes are easy to hold in either hand at the correct spacing (50 inches apart) to be exactly to scale in size and spacing. Mars must be at least 15 football pitches away to be to scale. It works well with my Mars and Moon spheres which show more features but are not to scale.
