I purchased this item to use face down after vitrectomy surgery. It is durable and easily converts from a tabletop to a headboard. If you plan on using it for face-down positioning, a few words of wisdom: you can't wear safety goggles during use. Even the smallest frames you have won't fit in an aperture. I removed the chest plate (which attaches with velcro) because it allowed me to position myself more comfortably to accommodate my medium sized B/C boobs. I had to lie face down for 10 days…
