The filter housing is easy to install and the pressure drop is much lower than housings with an integrated bypass. However, plastic threads are difficult to obtain with a waterproof seal. Use several layers of Teflon tape. Do not use thread lubricant.

5mm x 138mm (NBR) Metric Buna-N 70 Duro O-ring It costs about $2 each. They even fit better than the ones that come with them. The replacement o-ring that EcoPure sells is oversized, overpriced, and comes with two (2) o-rings that are bad.

Seems to do its job. I have filters in Revain auto delivery. As soon as a new one becomes available I'll update the review if I try to replace it and see how much dirt it removes. A tip: Do not press the red vent button when the water is still running. Oops.

Replaces "blue" with this filter. What I really like is the pressure relief valve, which makes changing the filter a lot easier. plumber recommended. The water here can taste bad and be high in iron (rusty color) so this is a must-see.

Great I have spring water with lots of iron my water has gone from orange to crystal clear. The filters don't last 6 months, probably only a month for my water, but they only cost $15 to replace and are worth every penny. No water pressure loss until the filter is completely filled with sediment. I tested the entire home filtration system but it cost thousands so I gave it a try and couldn't be happier.

I bought 2 of these to replace the GE whole house filter in my house. We have well water and I wanted to hook up 2, one for the sediment filter and a 0.05 micron. The socket thread snapped when I hand tightened it. I tried the second one and carefully tightened it. The thread of the filter housing is leaking. I've since gone to Home Depot and replaced it with a reliable GE version. They're made of cheap plastic. Do not buy.

I replaced my water softener and added this product as a softener pre-filter. A 30 second drip pours out of the case which I couldn't stop. Replaced the rubber seal once and greased the new seal. Printing will stop in a few weeks. It doesn't come with a filter and it's hard to find a well filter, especially the Ecopure EPW4S which is great for maintaining water pressure from private wells. Most filters offer chlorine blocking, which is not a problem for well water.

We have replaced the clear plastic block with this white and hard block of material - you cannot see through it. We have a terrible sight of the water in the well, in just a few days the clean water has turned reddish brown from the rust. We have several filter systems as well as a de-ironing system and a conventional water softener. We replaced the clear block with this and all we had to do was just unscrew the connection fittings, the old threaded adapters fit the new unit, we didn't have to…
