This is a more sensible shape for embroidery projects. .

This is a more suitable shape for embroidery projects. It's a bit difficult to get straight at first, but I still prefer round tires.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Update available

Nice wooden frame but too big

I ordered this one thinking I would use it to embroider on my latest CrabApple "Salem Witches" panel but it's too big and I can't center the center with mine reach hand. So I went back to my 5 inch tire. This is a very good wooden hoop.

  • Well built

Good product!

I love the shape and size of this frame which can be used for both hand and machine embroidery. I use hand for machine embroidery. The fabric is easy to hoop and slides easily under the sewing foot. This tire slides on the bed of my machine and I don't use anything special on the bed. I will order another one to hand embroider. High quality wood, so the investment was worth it for me.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

The tire lacks the indentation on the side of the tire that most earlier tires had. So I can't slide it under my car's freewheel leg like I thought I could. The picture doesn't show hoop jumping, but the person who taught the class I took said it was something completely new. However, the hanger is very well made and holds the fabric very well. I'm just frustrated that I keep having to take my foot off.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Consistent quality

I have had several Edmunds Hoops for a number of years. My "old ones" are slightly better quality than the new ones I recently received. But hardly any difference other than the smoothness of the wood. But an interesting trifle, if that's true. I took the plunge and bought two Hardwicke Manor Hoops (unfortunately they are not sold at Revain). People admired her. So one has arrived and the other is on the way. It has a smooth surface, I think the edges are more rounded. Edmunds brand, the wood…
