Connecting an external antenna to a portable radio

I use this adapter to connect an external antenna to a portable shortwave receiver which has a 3.5mm plug for this purpose.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Expandable

Works for me: plug and adapter

Connects my long cable to my Tecsun 880. Works great for me and looks like the connections are made exactly like the ones I received, the Time will tell, but for now I'm happy with it.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Price piggy bank

Poor quality control

The cable did not work, after inspection I noticed that the 3.5mm connector was poorly soldered to the cable. The same with the shield. I had to fix the cable to make it work. It would not have passed the quality check if tested. Also, that gold color coding is not very conductive. It works best when sanded with fine sandpaper.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • There are nuances
