When assembling the parts, be careful not to rush and pull the screws in slowly. I made a table leg too quickly and the screw was worn out and I couldn't tighten it down (or unscrew it to replace it). But apart from that it's great. Easy to follow instructions and it's beautiful. My daughter loves it, even with a wobbly leg :)

Would give 5 stars but one of the legs won't screw in properly so it's very loose and wobbly and won't hold up. I think we need to buy wood glue. The backpack and pencil case are very poorly made and fell apart immediately. Luckily I can sew so I'll try to fix it. Husband and daughter had a lot of fun building together! She loves him for her American doll.

While this desktop set is as cute as it gets'; The smell is so strong (maybe formaldehyde?) that we won't give it to our granddaughter. I can't find where it was made, but I think it must have been China, where there aren't strict rules against putting dangerous chemicals in children's toys. DO NOT buy this if you love your child and only want them to have items to keep them healthy!

Glad I chose this table over the American Girl or Our Generation set. My girls loved getting their sets on Christmas morning. The table requires assembly but my husband had it up and running in just minutes. He went on to comment on how strong they were. The set includes school supplies that are simply adorable. It's so cute and detailed. overall very easy to assemble except for the screws. I was very upset that they came with screws that were made of a very soft material and not sharp. If you try to screw them in, just a few turns and they snap. I feel it was very difficult to penetrate the wood because they weren't sharp on the ends. Using the screws I had was a breeze. When purchasing this small table, wait until you receive it and see what screw size you need. I can recommend this great table!

The screw holes are too small and the screws are soft so when trying to assemble the table I managed to snap off the screws for one of the legs so I had my leg half tightened have the bottom hanging off the table because I can't screw the leg in or unscrew it and take it off. Also, the pilot holes and mounting faces of the legs aren't all straight, so one of the three legs I put in place is at a pretty sharp angle compared to the others.
