Works great with power accessories

I read a lot of reviews and chose this one. So glad I did. Has been working great for 8 months now. We have a European laundry press that had to be converted to US power. It is used at least 8 hours every day, sometimes 12 hours or more without any problems, we don't even think about it. No noise or problems, plug it in and let it work. I would highly recommend it to other hotels.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Compatibility

Took it overseas/Vietnam

Took it to Vietnam because it's 220 volts, I took my 110 volt slow cooker and a small air compressor, my rechargeable drill battery and charger and other things that come with 110 Volt work and everything worked. A bit heavy, the plug is short because Vietnam has plugs high on the wall, like American switches, I bought an extension cord and everything worked 100%

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Price piggy bank

Bad product and customer service.

When I first tried it it showed that the power was on but there was no power at the 110 volt outlet. Breakers were ok, input selection was ok. but no power output. I requested a refund and they refused, but you have to pay for the original shipping (which should be free with PRIME) and return shipping. They are obviously unsure of their product, otherwise they would have paid for it.

Doesn't work with US hardware but has US plug

. I'm very disappointed because a) the converter/transformer has a US plug so I can't plug it in (I need a German plug) and b) after re-reading the description (Q&A) on Revain I see now , what's inside It says you can't use the US electronics item because it's two-phase, but the converter is single-phase. Then why put an American plug? 1 star for the plug and misleading information (the instructions on the box say it can be used in both the US and Germany).

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Big and bulky

A malfunction of the front socket can cause the mains fuse to blow.

I'm an engineer from USA living in Europe. I have used this unit with my Heavy Duty Coffee Roaster, Vita Blend and several other applications. I bought this and another cheaper transformer (7 stars) here on Amazon. This transformer is of quite high quality and most importantly it doesn't get hot or make too much noise. However, there are 2 issues I had to deal with. Firstly, in my apartment here in Sweden, a fuse often blows or trips a switch in a distribution board when the transformer is…

I really like it for several reasons

Engineer. I like this a lot for a number of reasons. The packaging is good. Arrived safely, no damage despite the weight. This is a good size for any location that uses a 13A fused plug as you won't be getting more than 3000 watts from one anyway. The construction is solid and has a good fit/finish. It comes with a US plug which is not ideal for my situation. We are in the UAE and I need to upgrade to 120VAC. I didn't want to use a wall adapter, but I was able to find a local plug with screw…

  • An absolute legend

Very well made, exceeds my expectations.

as of 09/10/2018: second ordered, has a 120V switch on the neutral conductor, this is dangerous for anyone using it to increase the voltage from 120V to 240V. For buck mode, that seems to be working fine. Note for advanced users: A standard US outlet (NEMA 5-15) is only rated for 1500 watts of continuous power, higher wattages only for short periods. So you CAN draw 3000 watts, but no more than a second (used mostly to start engines). Very well made, exceeds my expectations. No hum, not even…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Discontinued model

Great converter but big and heavy

I waited to post this review until I fully tested this converter. After all, if you're anything like me, you don't want to risk electrical issues (especially if you're trying to make great espresso with your European espresso maker). I tested it with: Solis. Scala Burr Grinder - 220-230V / 180W / Euro PlugDelonghi EC680M Ultra Compact 15 Bar espresso machine - 220-230V / 1450W / Euro Plug needs even more buffer to operate fans, pumps, etc. I didn't know if this theory was true for an espresso…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

History of the breaks

I have a couple of old espresso machines that require 220V. OK, I collect them. I've had a regular 1500w boost converter for years, but recently brought in a Ye Olde Country espresso machine that only draws about 1500w, so I bought another typical 3000w boost converter. Most of these things are made in China at low cost and I suspect many of them are from the same manufacturer with different names on the cases. Other. The transformer was as I expected, but its smell exceeded my expectations…
