You get what you pay for.

Excellent diagonal cutters for cutting copper wire, which is what they were made for. Keep them away from steel. I've had a pair for 20 years and they still work well although they have a few nicks.

Pros
  • Articulated narrow-jaw diagonal cutters for delicate work in hard-to-reach places
Cons
  • Small troubles

Plastic knives best in pliers

Bought for flush cutting metal wire. The blades are too thin and weak to work with metal wire. It's more suited to plastic binders, maybe that's what it was made for. It's mini size and not so comfortable to hold.

Pros
  • Induction hardened knives for long life
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was one

A well-made tool is best in Diagonal cutters

Klein's tools are hard to beat. It has a sturdier construction than most flush stamped cutters where the connection gets messy after a while. If the connection is lost, the blades move and the tool becomes useless. I need something that will last instead of buying a new cutter every 6 months. It's a bit more than the cheaper sink cutters but should work just fine.

Pros
  • Diagonal cutters
Cons
  • Concise instructions

They are dull and difficult to cut cable ties

Not what I was hoping for, I bought this item for the specific job of cutting cable ties in automotive wiring harnesses. that they are blunt and can barely cut the screed and then leave marks with each cut that tear the skin, which is exactly the opposite of what a "flush cut" should do. I gave it to a work colleague. what I did not like. I replaced it with this Knipex product and am very satisfied. KNIPEX 72 01 160 flush side cutters

Pros
  • Tools and Household Products
Cons
  • Insecure

Very disappointing Small

I bought these hoping they would be a less expensive alternative to the E710BCG Snap-On that I use everyday at work. Terrible quality in every way. The blades are by no means flush and clean, the blades are very dull and in bright light there is a very noticeable gap between them that only closes when you squeeze them very hard. The quality criterion for flat-nosed pliers is that they should be able to cut effortlessly without breaking the wire, they should slide without having to twist. So…

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Large & Bulky
